Woodland Gnomes are secretive little people who prefer to make their homes in
the old growth forests. They live simply in small communities among tree roots
and rocks. They respect and protect their environment, using only what they need
and recycling just about everything else. Nothing goes to waste. Most gnomes are
vegetarians, but some will eat insects and worm-like creatures.
Within
their communities, Gnomes live friendly peaceful lives. They work hard,
play often, and enjoy afternoon naps. When danger lurks they move quickly
to hide among the under growth of bushes, grasses and leaves to watch and wait.
Due to the activities of the human race their traditional homeland is
diminishing. Many gnomes have been forced to migrate to new areas and habitats.
Some gnomes have been sited in wooded areas of city parks and the gardens of
nature lovers.
Now that gnomes are living among us, there has been a rise in the number of
reported sightings. Often their presence is suspected by the pitter patter sound
resembling little running feet or the movement of vegetation such as flowers and
leaves. Most of the sightings have been of gnomes napping or peering from local
flower gardens.
These little people living among us can be quite mischievous especially when
their environment is disturbed or their presence has bee discovered. So
tread carefully and quietly. If you discover gnomes where you live, be
patient and respectful of them. Over time perhaps you can gain their trust
and live quietly in the same area.
